Dropbox Stuck Syncing on Linux

 Sometimes, the Dropbox client starts and hangs while reporting "Syncing..." in the status tray.  "dropbox status" unhelpfully returns "Syncing...".

Try running this:

echo fs.inotify.max_user_watches=100000 | sudo tee -a /etc/sysctl.conf; sudo sysctl -p
